Over the next several months, you'll see ZummoBike students and mentors visiting neighborhoods throughout our community.
Their mission is simple:
Find unused bikes that can be donated, refurbished, and put back into service.
Since 2015, more than 5,000 bikes have been donated to ZummoBike. Those bikes have helped fuel a unique workforce development program where young people learn mechanical skills, communication, customer service, teamwork, and responsibility inside a real business environment.
But the Neighborhood Bike Drive is about more than collecting bikes.
It's also about helping young people build confidence.
When students introduce themselves to homeowners, explain our mission, answer questions, and follow through on commitments, they are developing skills that will serve them throughout their lives.
Have a Bike That Needs Repair?
Not every garage contains a bike ready for donation.
Many families have bicycles they would love to ride again but simply haven't had the time to get them repaired.
As part of the Neighborhood Bike Drive, our students may also ask if you have bikes that need service.
To make things easy, ZummoBike offers:
• Free pickup
• Professional repair and refurbishment
• Free delivery back to your home
Whether it's a flat tire, shifting problem, brake adjustment, tune-up, or a bike that hasn't been ridden in years, we'd be happy to help.
Meet the Mechanics Behind the Work
One of the goals of the Bike Drive is to give young people opportunities to engage with adults,
communicate professionally, and represent something meaningful in their community.
The students you meet are not simply volunteers.
They are learning to become mechanics, managers, communicators, mentors, and future leaders.
Every conversation helps strengthen those skills.
Every donated bike helps fuel the program.
Every repair helps support the mission.
Together, we're building much more than bicycles.
